Sulake's Habbowood Campaign wins Internet Advertising Competition Award
Habbowood was awarded the Best Entertainment Intergrated ad campaign
HELSINKI, Finland, April 3, 2006 - Sulake Corporation, one of the world's fastest
growing interactive entertainment companies, has won an Internet Advertising Competition (IAC)
Award from the Web Marketing Association for its fall 2005 Habbowood campaign. The Habbowood
campaign was awarded as the Best Entertainment Integrated Ad campaign. The campaign was promoting
Habbo Hotel, an online community and game targeted to teenagers. Habbowood campaign was designed by
Sulake and produced by two other Finnish companies Valve Branding Oy and Taivasmainos Oy.
The basic idea behind the Habbowood Film Challenge was to offer Habbo users a new kind of
possibility to use their creativity. The participants were given the chance of being real film
directors with the opportunity to name their movie and characters, write the transcript and shape
the genre by choosing a suitable soundtrack. The short films included different setups and moods
ranging from creepy horror to romance.
One user could create as many films as he/she liked. The films could be also sent further to
friends. The campaign was conducted in 16 countries during fall 2005. During the six week period
there were over 400,000 Habbowood films made and the campaign site got over 2 million page
impressions.
Now in its seventh year, the IAC WebAward Competition has become the premier event for web
developers and marketers each year. The contestants in the competition were scored on seven
criteria: creativity, innovation, design, copywriting, use of medium, memorability and impact.
Habbowood campaign clearly fulfills all the criteria.

Habbowood 2006 is currently running in 16 Habbo Hotels around the world. The successful
concept has been made more demanding and this time the users are invited to be directors,
scriptwriters and promoters at the same time. They can create their own movie script, select the
cast and direct their movie, using tools available at Habbowood, as well as promote their own
project. Fame-hungry moviemakers need to get their friends to vote for their movie � the film with
most votes will win fame and glory as well as other cool prizes in Habbo Awards Gala event after
the campaign.
