Campaign for Peace starting in Habbo next week
On Sunday the 21st of September people around the world celebrate the
International Day of Peace.
To support the
Day of Peace, Habbo will arrange a series of
activities in the
global communities.
The activity around the Habbo Global Peace Gathering campaign will start on Monday 15th of
September, including virtual rooms, a group page where users can leave their message for peace, and
badges created for their virtual avatar to wear.
The peace activities will build towards the Global Peace Gathering on Friday 19th September;
teens around the world will unite to make their voices heard on an issue that is very important to
them.
The importance this issue has for young people around the world was shown by the responses to
a survey that ran in the communities this week. Over 30,000 teens took part in the poll, sharing
their thoughts on peace and issues of war. The results will be shared as activity builds around the
Global Peace Gathering.
War Child International have worked closely with Habbo on
the campaign, sharing their experiences of working with young people living in war zones. War Child
has also arranged for seven young people from
Uganda to join the local peace march in
Habbo Netherlands. Together teens around the world will unite to
create a unique visual representation of the strength of the teen voice.
The Habbo Global Peace Gathering will allow teens to gather and show their support, and take
part in the largest global online gathering ever seen!
